The Legendarium

Learn more about my story, the journey to be had, and my hopes for the future!

Prologue

I grew up in Mars Pennsylvania, born to a family of almost one-hundred (not and exaggeration) cousins scattered about the Pittsburgh area. With generations of life experience around me, two unfillable truths have come to guide my life:

Firstly, there is no harm in doing your best in all that you do. Secondly, everywhere about us there are stories, and it's the lucky ones who lean in to listen.

From family movie nights to tall tales at summer bonfires, my life has been guided by stories for as long as I've been talking. I hope, through this journey, to continue to grow and one day be the inspiration that drives others to tell stories of their own.

The Journey To Film

When I had first found Peter Jackson's production diaries from the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, something about seeing what went into bringing a story of that magnitude to life latched onto my psyche. The thrill I feel even now at just the notion of getting to contribute to a project of that scale energizes that creative sect of my mind. From that moment onward, some part of me (whether I knew it or not) knew
"I want to do that. I want to make that."

Additionally as I've grown, I've discovered I have a confusingly consistent ability to recall any and all quotes from film media I have seen. It doesn't matter how long ago, or how little of the film I've seen. If I heard the words, I can repeat them as recited. I think this party trick of mine was just one of the many things the pushed me into the storytelling medium of the silver screen.

Guided By Rhythm

The language of music is one of those key aspects that define the film medium. As a percussionist by trade, the math behind my favorite pieces always gets me leaning in. As a member of the Pittsburgh Steeline, and now even a high school Percussion Instructor, I find that music continues to define the way I live my life. It can heal, it can hurt, and it can inspire.

I've lived my life by rhythm for as long as I can remember. Whether from 13 seasons of competing in the marching arts, or just walking in time to Toby Fox piece, music has found its way to guide me through my best and worst times. The works of  John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Jónsi, Howard Shore, and  many more incredible composers are one of the many driving forces behind what keeps me going, and what keeps me creating.

Nendmir: The Endgame

In the fall of 2018, a group of upper-classmen high schoolers had heard me talking quietly about a game called Dungeons and Dragons during a drumline rehearsal. Wanting to make friends, I agreed to run a game for them; my first time ever taking up the role as Game Master.

Fast forward 7 years later, and what was once just some graph paper and dice has grown to occupy every aspect of my life in a way I could have never predicted.

Nendmir is a fantasy setting of my own creation that harkens in like to the natures of Middle-Earth, Exandria, Narnia, and many more fantastical settings. What started as a fun TTRPG game with my closest friend has become what I can only assume to be a lifelong project of creation, passion, and love.

The Endgame? I wish to adapt even one story amidst Nendmir's vastness to the big screen. While that goal seems far off, I strive to bring that horizon ever closer with everything that I create.
